Dr. Murali Venkatesan serves as Global Head of Danaher Ventures, investing in >50 companies with >15 portfolio acquisitions and IPOs across life sciences, diagnostics, and AI/data sciences. Danaher Ventures is the strategic investment arm of Danaher. Additionally, Dr. Venkatesan is Vice President of Science, Technology and Innovation at Danaher. Danaher is a healthcare conglomerate with >$24B USD in revenue. Dr. Venkatesan serves on the Board of Directors of several private companies across AI/Data Sciences, life sciences tools and services and served as a business development leader on the $9.6B acquisition of Aldevron. Prior to joining Danaher, Dr. Venkatesan was Director at Lam Research and partner at Lam Capital, a leader in Semiconductors. Prior to Lam, Dr. Venkatesan led teams in Advanced Research and Product Development at Illumina that enabled the $1000 and $100 genomes. These products have generated over $4B in revenue for Illumina.

Dr. Venkatesan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program. He is an inventor on >20 patents and has authored articles in Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Scientific Reports and Advanced Materials with >4000 citations. Dr. Venkatesan holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering degrees in Pure Mathematics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from University of Western Australia.
